Storm

These last few weeks I worked, I prepped, I double checked and made sure everything was ready for Sunday. I had a date with Camping Flamingo: a wonderful, once a month, creative market. Definitely a great place to spend your day at. Always hosting the fun and interesting mix of arts, crafts, flea market finds, foods & beverages. I looked forward for it to start. But then, there was Ciara, the storm… she had plans as well. Due to her, code orange and safety regulations it was only understandable that the event got cancelled. A little bummed, I stayed at home and we watched Ciara take over the day.

Check out some of the ‘goods’ I was going to have in my market stall ; )

OMG, She's 7!

Lisa is that kind of girl who counts down a whole year towards her birthday : ) When it is finally her turn she enjoys all the birthday festivities very much. So far September has been pretty busy. The last trail of deflated balloons and party decorations, that ‘have to stay a little longer,’ are a reminder of all the fun we had with friends and family. It’s amazing to see how much she has grown. Enjoying the little things and the big things together with this kiddo is the best. I am, for sure, a very proud mama ; ) I guess it’s time to count down… only about 350 days to go!!!

Lobo Reunion!

Summer Break started with the most wonderful reunion. I still cannot believe it's been 15 years since graduation. What an awesome opportunity to be able to meet Matt and reunite with Kristen, my former teammate, fellow classmate, housemate,... but most of all, a true friend! During those 4 years at UNM we literally spend each day together. From shared B-day parties, boring business classes, countless soccer practices and some memorable soccer victories. All great memories! Honestly, it does not feel like it's been 15 years and the older I get, the more I value those days. I am sure our next reunion won't take 15 years! fingers crossed!!! ; ) -Once a Lobo, always a Lobo- : )

And of course a great week of sightseeing in both London and Belgium needs some photo’s to look back at ; ) Like a pro tourist : ) All smiles!

Care

Earlier this year I was asked by KADOC, KU Leuven to be part of their upcoming exhibition: ‘Vele handen. Zorg en samenleving in heden en verleden.’ I created the portrait series, illustrating the broad spectrum of our health care system by the people representing it… both caregivers and caretakers. It is needless to say how many interesting people I have met on this assignment. I am still very happy to have been part of this project and I hope that I have captured the essence: To care for one another! Because no matter your age, gender, culture, no matter who you are, we are all in need for the right care at one point or another.

So last week I went back to the beautiful Begijnhofkerk in Sint-Truiden, Belgium to take in the vibe one more time. The Church, where the exhibition is held, is on the Unesco world heritage list. A wonderful historical site. Absolutely a must see!!! … and Free entrance ; )

The photo’s here are from my last visit… check my ‘projects’ page to view the selected portraits!

Freshness

Spring season… when things multiply! The air is buzzing!!

Party Planning

An afternoon filled with great vibes, a lot of wind and even more laughter. Lisa and I totally went for it and ended up with a great mixture of moments to treasure for ever. Let’s get going on those invitations ‘cause it’s almost time to party!!!

Spring is in the Air!

Lunch break between two photo shoots equals: just enough time to stroll through Leuven and its Beguinage. Feeling like a tourist ain’t so bad : )

Busy BXL Weekend

Two different fairs to visit in one weekend. One more technical, the other more artistic. A nice combination and a lot of valuable information. I used the time afterward to unwind and snap some shots. A little bit of street photography of our capital never hurts ; ) Welcome to Brussels, Belgium!
