Motion

Experiment is always part of the game. For me, creating art is a way of balancing things out. When time becomes an abstract notion, energy flows freely, translating into a visual expression. In that moment colors are fused together and abstract lines intertwine.

Here’s a peek of my -SNOW- series.

Footprint

Do you know that split second of hesitation, whether or not to ‘ruin’ a freshly snow covered path? …and then, the very next second doing exactly that! Well, that is what last Friday was all about. Making my way through the snow, one footprint at a time. After all, hiking the trail, was not a hard decision to make and I can still hear that oh so typical, fun, crackling sound produced by my very own footsteps. Winterwonderland, what’s not to like about it!?

Winter Tales

Lisa had asked for a ‘photoshoot’ in the snow! … couldn’t be happier ; ) On Wednesday afternoon we went for it. Patience, as that goes with a 6 year old, does not run far. Halfway around the lake, the familiar phrase: “Are we going home now!?” was a fact. A trail of ducks footprints showed us the way along the snow-covered path. We headed back for a much warmer destination: Home sweet home!

A Picture Perfect Day.

Ignited by the Blood Moon and a very promising daybreak, I headed of to the Haute Fagnes. A place like no other and especially beautiful when covered in a soft layer of snow. The coldest night of the winter thus far paved the way for a true blue sky, keeping me company all day long. Of course I was not the only one who wanted to enjoy this snowscape. Luckily, the desolate landscape remained a quiet place to energize both body and soul.

If monuments could talk...

For us Belgians, bricks and cobble stones are part of our dna. Only when traveling abroad do we realize the beauty we take for granted. History is everywhere. Certainly, I appreciate the modern way of life. But I like the perfect blend of both the most. Here’s a taste of Diest, Belgium, where all the right ingredients are fused together, like a string of molecules. Yes, it is always the right time to explore and discover!

Stardust

Your unexpected passing away has shaken up the start of the year. Our minds know it is best this way, yet our hearts are filled with sorrow. It is the end of a long journey and I am grateful for all the memories. Wishing you safe travels to the other side. Rest in peace Bompa… you will be missed.

End of Year

Once again another year is coming to an end. Between all the celebrations and the abundance of holiday joy, I made sure to squeeze in some time to reflect. 2018 has most certainly been a key year. Happy and proud of the work that’s been done, whilst enjoying what matters most. I am excited to unwrap another gift: 2019. So lets ‘sparkle up’ and get ready for what’s ahead.

Keep up that good work. Stay consistent in following your dreams and of course… my best wishes for a bright new year!

King Winter

At last, after too many dull grey days, King Winter came knocking on our door!

Tree Master Anton

I had a great time at Anton’s Winter photo shoot. We kept it basic, facing the weather and enjoying the elements. From jumping in rain puddles, to the perfect tree climbing session and of course the company of a ‘charming’ dino… I can only say that it made for a perfect December day. I must admit that I am already looking forward to meet up again for Anton’s warm-hearted family’s portrait.

Frame it!

So satisfying every time a fine art print shapes a home. The whole creative process from start to finish portrayed the way it was intended to be. Including a statement piece allows this abode to flourish. The photographic play of natural elements brings an intriguing fresh breath of air… my kind of dwelling place.

To the Moon and Back!

Friendship that goes far and beyond anything… These ones I love to the moon and back! My little X-mass photo shoot team troopers for the afternoon. Yes, it’s that season again. Let’s fill darkness with sparkles!

Twinstinct

Where there’s Abdullah, there’s Sabri and where there’s Sabri, there’s Abdullah! I am getting better at knowing who’s who ; ) Both brothers are full of life and smiles yet each one in his own way. The unspoken simpatico shared by these twin brothers is wonderful. For sure great neighbour kids to have around. Keep on smiling boys!

Tooth Fairy Time

Lisa pulled out her tooth two days before she had to have her school picture taken. Not knowing to fully smile or not with that big gap she felt a bit awkward. At home we took a moment to celebrate this new milestone the right way. ‘Lets bake waffles!!!’ Great fun, lots of giggles and of course big smiles! Oh and for now she’s still hanging on to that baby tooth. No Fairy yet!

Forest Bathing

No better way to spend a Sunday morning. Fall in all its glory for us to enjoy. Adventure, imagination, discoveries, and fairytales were on the menu. Even a little picknick break under our secret tree was included. Keeping it simple benefits us most. Rewarded with a: ‘…lets do this again, mama’, we made it back safe and sound!
